The apple almond croissant was light and flaky filled with a warm cinnamon apple puree and topped with a strudel crisp. Tastes like a lighter version of apple pie. Pairs perfectly with an unsweetened coffee or latte to offset the sweetness. 10/10 recommend Went in shortly after they opened and there was no line and service was fast. Would be a good place to sit and do some work or read for a bit.
Love their fresh baked sourdough is my favorite. Come here often for their great pizza dough!
Service was quick and this bakery had a home feel to it. I got the Almond Croissant and it's probably my favorite i've had, the almond filling isn't overpowering and you still get the flakiness of the croissant!
The patio is very cute and green. The veggie sandwich was decent. The croissants are okay but not great. Their staff members are welcoming and nice.
There is indoor seating and a back patio with outdoor seating (but it's not covered). Thorough Bread & Pastry has been on my list for a long time. Line wasn't long; I waited about 5-10 mins to order. Plenty of available seating inside and outside. What we ordered: - Traditional croissant ($3.75) - Custard filled morning bun ($4.50) - Raspberry violet almond croissant ($3) (seasonal) The butter croissant was small and the seasonal raspberry almond croissant was tiny (hence the low price). Good lamination. Very crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The raspberry violet almond croissant was definitely my favorite out of the three. It's not too sweet and the raspberry is more like a layer of filling in the middle. The morning bun was just okay - it is a beautiful pastry but I don't love cinnamon and the cinnamon powder and texture of the custard were just throwing me off. They also had a chocolate banana almond croissant that I really wanted to try! Service was great. The people were super friendly.
Came to Thorough Bread to taste their croissant again. I love my croissants a certain way. Crunchy on the outside, chewy and a hint of buttery taste on the inside. Thorough Bread croissant in great on the inside. It's not as crunchy on the outside as I would expect. DJ's rating 4.16/5.00 Would I come back? Yes, but not my first choice.
TGTO. Did you know they came in 3rd for the best croissant? Im a believer. That has to be the crunchiest and flakest croissant i ever had. Eat somewhere safe because crumbs will be flying every which way. I love their Raspberry Almond croissant. All their desserts look yummy!
Atmosphere: 5/5 pastries: 5/5 coffee: 4/5 This lovely bakery and cafe has plenty of light, a hidden backyard, and a delightful selection of both savory and sweet baked goods. I sometimes come here after yoga and this morning I stopped in with my romantic partner on a rainy day. We had the Apple cinnamon rustic tart, the orange marmalade almond croissant, and the ham and cheese croissant. This place seems to be frequented by a great many Francophones as I saw several French speakers converse with one of the bakers. Their croissants are to die for, so I can understand its popularity. We got an oat milk latte (yum) and a cappucino (not my favorite cappucino in the neighborhood but not bad). They give you little names of streets to wait for your coffee. They staff is friendly and gives good recommendations! Re: WiFi, I asked and they don't have WiFi. They said none of the plugs by the seating work except one in the front of the cafe.
The corn cheddar cone is HEAVENLY!!! As for the chicken melt, it was super filling but too salty. I was not a fan of the extraneous pine nuts in the sandwich. BUT that corn scone will live in my head rent free. This bakery is at a prime junction of tons of public transit lines and it feels like a little oasis away from the hustle and bustle. Service was laid back and easy to order from.
It was my first time here They have inside and outside sitting area but since it was raining, outside sitting area was closed . Employees were very friendly and nice . I ordered one of their pastries and an americano. I loved it . The sign for the pastry I chose was saying it is : cheese pistachios almond But on my recipe it was saying Frangipani Tart . Any way I don't know what was exactly called but it was good . I will be back again soon .
